The Omega J8005 Nutrition Center is a high-quality masticating juice extractor with auger speeds between 75 to 85 RPM. Centrifugal juicers process at speeds up to 15,000 RPM. This may seem ideal, but it does little to preserve the flavor and nutrients in the juice. With its slow speed, it reduces oxidation, foam, and heat buildup, therefore producing juice high in vitamins and antioxidants. This single gear juicer effectively utilizes a two-stage extraction process to remove the juice.
This is a juicing machine, constructed with sturdy parts. Their patented stone, mill-like auger is capable of crushing tough produce and nuts, like carrots or almonds. This juicer can be used for a variety of purposes. If you would like to make almond butter, you can crush them with this juicer by using the blank cone with the oval nozzle option. If you have a baby, create homemade baby food by easily pureeing it. You can grind up spices, coffee beans, and also mince onions or garlic. The specifications are as follows: 120V/60Hz and 150 watts. It operates with a 1/3 horsepower single-phase induction motor and weighs 16 pounds.

- The auger of this machine is not made of GE’s Ultem auger system which is not as durable as newer omega juicers, that’s the main reason why the warranty is slightly lesser than newer models

- The chrome plating make it a little more expensive than its counterpart J8003
Features & Product Details
Is it Easy to Use?
Anyone can easily set up this juicing machine. It only seems a touch confusing at first, but after the first time, assembly becomes easy enough to put together in a few seconds from that point moving forward. Prior to operating the juicer, feel free to set it on some paper towels or a hand towel if the noise is too much for you. Cut and slice your produce into thin sections so you can place them easily down the chute. Since the chute only measures 1.5 inches across; larger pieces of fruit and veggies cannot fit into the tube
You will need to use a little force when juicing your fruit and vegetables. However, this does not make it more difficult in terms of usage. Do not fill the drum with too many items, as this may cause the auger to become stuck or clogged. Although this machine rarely clogs, the reverse button option makes unclogging simple with the flip of a switch.
Is it Easy to Clean?
Once you have completed juicing, it is extremely easy to clean. If you take a few minutes to wash it, you can set it aside on a towel to air dry. Rinse off the remaining pulp. Submerge the pieces in warm, soapy water, and wash. The bristle brush is highly efficient at removing the leftover citrus pulp in the sieve or the juicing screen. In fact, the juicing screen is the only piece that takes a minute to clean—especially if you juice a lot of citrus. You can place the removable parts into the dishwasher—top rack only. Rinsing and pre-brushing the juicing screen or sieve is recommended if you decide to wash them in the dishwasher. Allowing the produce or pulp to dry on the parts makes them difficult to clean later.
Omega 8005 removes wholesome and delectable juice from produce using a two-step mastication method. To begin with, it slowly pulverizes the fruit or vegetables, and then presses the puree against the juicing screen to extract the remaining juice. The dry pulp is automatically expelled. Run the pulp back through the machine to ensure you have extracted as much as you are able to. This method reduces heat buildup, oxidation, therefore limiting any damage to your juice; thus increasing the shelf life of your juice to up to 72 hours. Ensure that you pour your juice almost to the top of a container using a tight lid. If you can, use a glass container to store your juice. A glass container is always better than a plastic one.
The complimentary blank cone and nozzles can transform this juicer into a pasta and bread sticks maker, homogenizer, grinder and a food processor.
Not only it can help you prepare healthy juices, it also serves extra functions to provide variety in your juicing regimen—homogenizer, pasta maker, food processor, coffee grinder.
If you feel like eating healthy frozen desserts, feel free to freeze your juice into ice cubes then let the machine turn it into a cold healthy treat by adding milk, yogurt and other ingredients to your heart’s content. This homogenizer function can also be used to make nut butters and baby food.
Included in your purchase are nozzles that can be used to make pasta of varying shapes and sizes, you can choose between a flat or a round noodle; better yet you can add some flavor to your pasta to make a Korean style u-dong noodles. Nozzles with larger opening can be used to form bread sticks. The bad news is you still have to prepare your dough.
It can be used as a food processor to chop your meat, fish, fruits, and vegetables into fine pieces for any meal you’re planning. This mincing/grinding ability also allows you to prepare ingredients for marinades, salsas, soups, and sauces. Additionally, it can also process soaked rice and beans producing a puree-like consistency.
You can even grind your own coffee beans for a fresh cup of java with this machine. Some coffee beans (especially gourmet coffees) have higher oil content, this have to be dried overnight for easier processing.

The Omega J8005 Nutrition Center extracts the maximum amount of juice from vegetables, leafy greens, and fruits. The tough auger rotates slowly, ensuring the nutrients are not damaged by any heat buildup or oxidation. This translates into better tasting juice that lasts longer in the refrigerator. This juicer is powerful, extracting the highest levels of antioxidants and other nutrients, while preserving the full flavor. One downside is that it does not have a handle; so finding a permanent area on the counter might be a really good idea. At 16 pounds, that might be heavy for some individuals.
Also, this juicer is the twin to the Omega J8003 model. The only difference is that this one comes in the chrome and black option. You may prefer this option to the Omega J8003 because if you happen to drip juice on it, it will not stain the exterior. The price tag for the J8005 model is more than the previous version. Both machines have received reviews from enthusiastic juicers. It really is a matter of your personal preference. If you do not mind the idea of staining your juicer, then the Omega J8003 model is a good option. However, if the idea of staining your machine makes you cringe and splurging for the higher-priced option doesn’t bother you, then go for it.
Extracting more nutrients and better tasting juice than centrifugal juicers, the versatile, masticating Omega J8005 Juicer is sure to make you a very happy owner, as you move down the path to a healthier you.
